Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch1, Part8

The ongoing story of my Sims and their goal to have lived in a different house for each generation until we make it to number 10. The first generation seems to be taking it's time, although this should change shortly, I hope. Maybe I'll make ten parts for each chapter, since this is already chapter 8. Sorry if this part is a little boring. I'm not the best at screenshots but I started this so I'm at least going to try to see it through to the end :)

***

Leif celebrates  the beginning of summer with a visit to the ice cream truck that always stops outside his house. He doesn't have much money but I figured it couldn't hurt; they don't cost very much. The chocolate shell and cold vanilla ice cream seems to hit the spot, giving Lief a nice happy moodlet to start off his day. It's very convenient not having to cook a meal, but we'd better not make this a habit. I heard icecream was fattening.

I wanted to help Lief achieve another promotion at work and not let him lose his job so I sent him off to Maywood Glen to practise chess with other Sims. He needed to work on his logic skill but it doesn't hurt to make a few friends while we're at it.

The two were absorbed in their game, when who comes along but Gunther Goth...certainly not what I imagined. I remember he's usually the Sim in a purple top hat and nice clothing (and I Googled it. Lol). He sure looks different as an elder. He stayed and watched the match, cheering sometimes and chatting at others. I don't think overalls are really his style somehow...

Several chess matches later, Lief's improved his logic skill enough to make sure he doesn't get fired, so he goes around harvesting some of the fruit growing in the park's trees. Apples, limes and even some onion seeds. This park is a generous spot for hungry Sims in the summer.

Meanwhile, Gunther and Cornelia spend some time amongst the beautiful scenery. I wonder if these Sims will both be around when Leif's heir is growing up? Since one of them is an elder already, they may not have much time left. If you look into the notes on these Sims, you can find some interesting info; Gunther and Cornelia are the parents of Mortimer Goth. That should tell you something!

Determinedly ignoring the pair whispering and giggling a stone's throw away, Lief continues harvesting the lime trees, collecting a nice amount of both fruits now. Fruit makes a quick and convenient snack whenever he gets hungry, so we don't have to worry about going home, finding somewhere to eat or finding a place to cook meals. Just select a fruit in the inventory and click 'eat'. It's handy indeed!

Comfortably full of apples, Lief spends the remaining time in the lovely Maywood Glen playing with this (stray?) cat he met. His name is Ichabod, which I think is a brilliant name for a black kitty cat! I think later on we must get another pet. Lief seems to attract all kinds of animals all over Sunset Valley.

Lief: "Kitty want a treat? Come and get it!"

I know cats can jump higher than dogs, but that might be a bit high.

A summer storm rolls in and that puts an end to our fun in the glen. Lief has an opportunity to complete that would increase his job performance; to make friends with a woman he's never met before. (By the way, I tried looking her up on Sims Wiki and discovered I was calling the lady Sim  with those pink butterfly tights a few posts back the wrong name. Her daughter is Bebe and she's called Dorie. Oops. I knew their last name anyway) We searched all over Sunset Valley and it was getting late. Lief was on his way home, about to give up the search when we found her, coming home from work. I've forgotten her name yet again. I think the surname started with B. Maybe.

Lief is invited inside by Mrs B, who is still in her work outfit as she's just got in the door. She's a journalist (I think). We discreetly look around her home, garnering ideas for our future houses. XD Lief puts his charisma skill to the test, trying out that golden tongue he's been practising for. Well, his charisma skill isn't that high, so maybe it's more of a yellow colour. Hmm...that doesn't sound very nice. *laughs*

Lief tells his most side splitting jokes, recalls his best funny stories and chatters about anything he can think of to Mrs B, who is in an awfully good mood and seems happy to talk. The friendship quickly develops and Lief is one step closer to getting a promotion. I admire the stripy wallpaper in her house in the meantime.

They're almost friends now. We just need one more entertaining interaction to solidify their friendship, so Lief gets to tell a scary story. I think he must have done alright because Mrs B became and he became friends at the end!

Lief: "And her face was stuck that way, forever!"

I love how all the lights in the house are turned off for this. Ha ha!

Mrs B is wishing to make dinner since she's probably hungry after the long day of a journalist. Lief bows out of joining her though. Or he may just be slumped in dismay at having to return to his own squishy shack. Either way, it's time to go.

The next day, Lief pays a visit to the park. It's the summer festival and there's plenty to see and do but he's also here for another reason.

Lief: "Ooh, look! It's a parrot!"

No, not to find a new pet. Though that parrot is awesome.

Lief: "It's not afraid of me at all" :O "Can I keep it?"

No! You have something more important to think about right now. Remember?

Lief: "Oh yeah; the wedding!"

That's right. The wedding of Lief and Agnes McLear! It's pretty low key and nothing especially fancy but it's at a wonderful venue where the guests and the happy couple can have lots of fun in the sun.

Wedding vows and rings are exchanged and the simple ceremony is sealed with a kiss. Agnes and Lief are now together forever. Well, until they die anyway. We couldn't do much about what Agnes is wearing as her bridal outfit - hopefully this union will go better than her last one.

Lief: "I hope so too...I don't want to die! I'll come back as a ghost if I have to"

Agnes: "Oh Lief, you're so sweet to me *tee hee*"

After the simple exchange of rings and a few heartfelt vows, Lief and Agnes enjoy the summer sport of water balloon fighting. One of the Sims who mans the food stalls has apparently become stuck and can't stop throwing confetti and cheering. He's probably going to celebrate their wedding until they leave. He's over there in the far right corner and the other one? Well, he's joining in the water balloon fight. Who needs to sell things anyway? Lol. Other Sims will just have to grill on the barbecues.

If water balloons didn't get them wet enough, there's a sprinkler too. I think we'll buy Agnes a new swimsuit before she goes on her honeymoon, though. It's a bit plain for my tastes.

Lief and Agne's sprinkler party is joined by a small dog, who shakes all over Lief and a small child standing nearby. And confetti toss man is still stuck near the face painting booth, cheering and carrying on. He's been celebrating for hours now. I don't know how to fix it so I guess he'll have to stay that way. XD Sorry!

Lief and Agnes got a great rating for their 'wedding party'. We topped it all off with some sparkling fireworks over Sunset Valley. What a fantastic way to end the day and wake up all the neighbours.

Now the fun doesn't end here. It probably should but I just got the World Adventures expansion pack, so it's time for a honeymoon in an exotic location. We'll be taking Agnes' car. Goodness, isn't it fancy? How nice of her to share. Or it would be if Lief didn't get negative moodlets due to his eco-friendly trait. Off they go to the airport on their way to...well, it's a secret! You'll have to find out next instalment.

Or you can just guess. ;) If you have the World Adventures pack installed then you most likely know where they are already. It's pretty nice for a 'base camp' accommodation. I gave the happy couple a makeover and some new clothes. What do you think of Aggie's hair style? She looks a bit more glamorous, doesn't she? As for what they're going to get up to in this wonderfully romantic getaway, that's coming up next. :D
