Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch2, Part2

If you're not bored to death reading through my little story and are still reading along then thank you very much. If you are, well I'm talking to myself. But that's nothing out of the ordinary. XD I am a bit insane. Lol. Anyway, onwards we go to watch what my Sims are up to.

As you can probably tell, Agnes the wonderful artist has been at her easel the past few days. She's been painting all sorts of paintings to fulfil a wish to decorate the house with 5 paintings and then she rolled one to decorate it with 15. I have no idea how they are going to fit. But at least Alisha's nursery loos more colourful. We even got a portrait done. It doesn't matter that it's textured since all the babies look the same. Lol. And Lief!! What are you doing? That is the incorrect way to hold a baby! She looks like a sack of potatoes.

Lief: "Huh, wha - Oh, sorry, I got distracted hearing you talk about the paintings and I was busy looking at the portrait. You sure they all look the same?"

Hold your daughter properly!

Agnes meanwhile...well, it's pretty obvious what she is doing. Painting, painting and more painting. I had her painting at the easel outside but with Autumn now here and the sunny days rolled away by cloudy weather, we've had to bring it somewhere more sheltered. I can only imagine what would happen if it rained and washed all the paint off the canvas. Or maybe that would be a kind of abstract art?

Yup, it is definitely raining today. The weather is chilly and miserable and I love it! It's hot where I live right now so looking at this makes me feel like I can cool down. It's not good to use air con all the time unless you like having high power bills. Lol. Oh, I should have a look and see if there's any 'air con' decorations in the décor section. There probably isn't. Your Sims could put it on the wall and use it in summer to cool their houses down. :D Anyway, they don't need it right now. Look at all those pretty red leaves and cold mist.

I didn't take more pictures of taking care of the baby since I'm sure they'd be boring by now. So it's fast forwarded to Alisha's toddler birthday. I tried to capture it on video and was going to upload it here but my game lagged and my filming skills were shonky to say the least. So you don't get the photos of her blowing out her candle on her cake and then sparkling to toddlerhood but that's probably for the best. Instead, let's see who is at the party; An  acquaintance of Agnes' from work and her sister, Cornelia, who is now quite clearly an elder. Her fashion tastes have certainly changed a lot. Ooh, I need to give everyone a makeover in this town! They aren't dressing to their personalities. Anyway, just a bit below and to the right of Auntie Cornielia's feet, there should be a little girl wearing a hat. That's Alisha. I tried to get all of her in the photo but with her being so near the ground, the camera wouldn't get close.

Here's my attempt at getting another picture. I find it surprising that she has black hair. She doesn't get it from Lief since his natural colour is red-brown. So it must come from Agnes or somewhere from her side of the family tree. I can't see what colour her eyes are from here.

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!" That seems to be the case here. Alisha is hungry and she's letting everyone know about it. I'm not sure who that little girl by the stereo is. I must have invited her for some reason. She would have to be a student at Sunset Valley's only school.

Alisha filled up on some tasty mush food and now is quiet but that could be because her Aunt is giving her a scary look. Come on Cornelia, just smile. Lol.

Alisha: "Grannie?"

Well, she does have a walking stick and she is an elder...

The next morning, the whole town was covered in mist and it was raining again. It looks like it's going to rain a lot this autumn. For some reason I like taking pictures of the weather. I am not sure but there may have been a lightning strike I was trying to capture here. They often hit right near the house, in the back yard when there's heavy storms but thankfully the house hasn't been set on fire yet.

And what timing too. It's the wee hours of the morning and Rosie Posie has come out of her urn on this stormy occasion. Mind you, all she does is nap on the couch because the rest of the house is sleeping.

Oh, spoke too soon. Looks like Alisha needs some food. The joys of being a parent and getting up at 4am. ;) At least she slept for most of the night so my Sims could get some rest. She is now pretty ravenous though. Lol, better feed her before the social worker comes knocking. I can't afford to lose our only heir. (Agnes is nearly an elder).

Agnes: "Excuse me for getting older"

I know you can't see her that well but I have given Alisha a mini makeover. I just changed her hair and her outfits. Look at those little ponytails with the ribbons. I bought quite a few new hair styles for the kids and toddlers but there still aren't that many to choose from but this I thought was rather cute. Also, she's finally big enough to play with toys. The teddy bear is getting some love.

Agnes and Lief can finally go back to work. With both parents working at the school for the day, we had to call in a babysitter. And look who turns up!  Why is he wearing a tuxedo? All I have to say is that is very brave to do around little kids, especially wearing white. Lol. It looks like he has somewhere else to be. Or maybe he's a butler...but don't they usually wear black suits? Oh well, so long as he does a good job it doesn't really matter. He seems to be admiring Agnes' paintings.

Alisha seems to like him as well. She was playing with the xylophone most of the day until her social need dipped too low and then this happened. Aw, cute!

When Lief gets home, he starts teaching her to talk. We only have a limited time to teach her the three basics of talking, walking and potty training so it's best to start as soon as possible. :) Lucky for her that both her parents are teachers. Lief is even still in his work clothes. Ha ha.

Lief: "Grim Reaper...Grim Reaper"

Teaching her about the important things in life, I see. XD Gosh, the Grim looks so cute, with his little scythe and everything! Needless to say, Alisha won't be surprised if he ever turns up unexpectedly. Or maybe she will - the Reaper isn't quite that adorable.

Another day dawns in Sunset Valley and it's Spooky Day today. Lief got invited to a party and when he went to attend...look at the house! Wealthy Sims just seem to like my founder. He gets invited to all their parties. Twice to the Goth mansion and now this. It's not my favourite style of house but I guess it falls into the category of a 'modern' house so we can take a few tips for when we have to build that house style. Lots of glass and smooth surfaces and angles. To me these houses always seem too cold and impersonal and though they do have a certain character, I like old and decorative houses more. But not old and spooky like the Goth Mansion. Old, yet pretty and homely with stories in its walls and furniture. English and French country houses are some of my favourite.

Ha ha, I like this costume a lot better than the hot dog one. It's an astronaut. I thought it was a firefighter at first but I notice they have a blue and yellow outfit when I looked it up. Fire Fighter is an amazing occupation. There are so many brave men and women that do an incredible job every day, especially here in Australia where there's so many bush fires. I'm going to have to make one of my Sims in this legacy a firey for sure. The new careers that come with Ambitions make it one of my favourite expansion packs. Ghost Hunter and Stylist, Architect, Tattoo Artist and even the Doctor career are all so much fun!

Lief: "Uh, I don't mean to interrupt your dialogue but if we're done talking, can I go in now?"

Lief is trying to make a new friend. He went to thank Mister Whoever for inviting him to the party by giving him a gift. Unfortunately, this Sim doesn't know us well enough yet to accept a gift but Lief still manages to chat and build a bit of a relationship score. Oh well, he probably didn't need a gift anyway. What do you buy the Sim who has everything? A cushion for his couch maybe.

Agnes isn't left out of the Spooky Day fun either. There are kids and teens coming to the door, trick or treating. She hands them out lollies with a smile. Ohh, just wait until Alisha is old enough to do this.

But right now she's still too little. Lief and Agnes had to go to work the next day so her favourite babysitter is back. I was happy to see she does get the same one each time. I believe his name is Louie Dean (yay, I remembered a Sim's name. Lol.) and he is a high school student. Maybe that's his school uniform.

Aha! Like this I could zoom in more and finally see what colour Alisha's eyes are. They are hazel, like Agnes'. (Lief has blue). I love the new outfits for the toddlers and kids in the game. Isn't that top she's wearing just adorable? >w< And the little hair ribbons that match. Lol.

With her needs taken care of for now, the babysitter leaves her to her own devices. But Alisha is a good girl. Her toy that was sent in the mail is keeping her company while she sings to and plays with it. His (it's a male) name is Hesper. These toys are pretty cool. They can become your Sims' own imaginary friend and they can also become real if you have a high enough relationship score with them. Only problem I had with them is that if you decide you don't want them you can't sell them or delete them. I got an evil one in one of my other saved games. Ha ha.

Where is Alisha's caretaker while this is happening? Playing in the massive leaf pile outside in the back yard. Wow, in his nice suit and everything! Lol.

Who swept all those leaves? Lief and Agnes had no time to do it.

Oh that's right - we have a maid. With my founder and his wife being busy Sims, it's just easier to have someone else clean the house. But cleaning the leaves; isn't that a gardener's job? So this is what we've been paying the maid to do. She must have been outside for hours raking all of them up. And this guy is messing up the pile by playing in it. XD And to make things more funny...another wild horse turns up. It's almost like they want people to adopt them ;)

And yet another horse, not long after the first trotted off. It looks a little lonely. I also think it looks like a Clydesdale. Eventually, it trots away as well, hopefully to find some nice Sims or some horsey friends. I just don't think my school teachers have time for such a time consuming pet right now.

Speaking of which, they've just arrived home and are really stressed. I've been pushing them to get promotions and improve job performance after being off work a few days (the wedding, honeymoon and maternity leave plus leisure day and spooky day). What better way to unwind and have some fun than with a good old game of horse shoes? Ha ha. They're still in their work clothes but I don't think it matters.

It's Agnes' turn. Lief, this should bring back memories. This is what you would do when you were dating.

Lief: "Yeah, I remember that! Probably because I don't really have any other games. I wonder if we could get a portable gnubb set"

Well you could but I was trying not to clutter the yard with objects. It tends to make them look a bit ugly.

Agnes: "Shush! I'm trying to concentrate"

Missed! Lol. Ah well, better luck next time.

Agnes: "This is because you were talking"

Agnes loses the game of horseshoes so she goes inside to make dinner. Little Alisha is having dinner too; a nice meal of toddler mush. Mmmm... >.>

Lief and Agnes will be having hamburgers. If you have a food processor, you can blend up any food in the fridge and serve it to your toddlers but the drinks machine (it was a wedding present), takes up that bench space. I don't think Agnes will be happy without her lattes, hot chocolates and frothocinos. Lol. She seems to like drinking them and making trays of drinks to serve at parties. Oh, by the way - do you love the little high chair? It's a teddy bear~ :D Lisha's also got a teddy wall hanging, a teddy potty and a plush toy teddy so I think we can say she likes bears. Who doesn't like teddy bears though?

Lief still has an inner child. Or at least he can pretend he has one because he's always been an adult. Ha ha. That what you get when you're made in C.A.S. While his wife and daughter are making dinner, he is outside, irresponsibly playing in piles of leaves. What is it with Sims and wearing their nicest clothes to play in the leaf piles? Anyway, I think it's pretty cute. XD What a cool teacher those Sim kids have. It's great to be so carefree and have a sense of fun.

It's also great to be old enough to set things on fire (legally), without getting in trouble. Lief has had his fun so it's time to set these leaves ablaze. If we don't, they'll become smelly piles of composting material over winter.

Lief: "Is that rain?"

Or we can when the rain stops. What timing. Lol.

Agnes is getting Alisha ready for bed. We've been chipping away at each of the three toddler goals over the days. After eating, Sims bladder need will start to drop more, so it's always handy to do the potty training a while after meals. The pink bear shape makes even this task adorable.

Alisha is ready to conk out so Agnes tucks her in. I was going to select the 'read to sleep' option but she's so tired we don't have time for it.

Agnes: "Night night sweetie"

Meanwhile, Lief got invited to yet another party. He was told it would be awesome but it was really boring. There was no food, no music and he couldn't find anyone to talk to. Lief was hungry and sleepy so he made tracks before it ended. And since it happened to still be raining, he got try out his brand new umbrella. Oh, er, I mean 'rain disruptor'.

Lief: "This is more exciting than that party. You should have got me one of these ages ago :D"

This is the house where the party was held. I am not sure which category it falls into. I guess it would have to be modern. It looks a little bit eco friendly at the same time though, so I'm not sure. Is there a name for this kind of house?

The next morning, Lief is still sleeping after his night of boring partying. Agnes is up early, making breakfast for her and Alisha, who seems to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today. She's already been fed but is throwing a bit of a tantrum despite none of her needs being low. Sometimes you just have those days. Lol.

Yum! Looks like we're having pancakes today. The house must be smelling really good about now. Those pancakes looks delish, Agnes. She used some fruit nectar in them, I believe. (It says some fancy name of grapes when I click to select these pancakes).

Agnes: "Yes, you can do it. You're nearly halfway there"

Oh I forgot to mention that today is a Saturday. Lief is sleeping in while Agnes is helping Alisha tackle her goals. Or Agnes' goals. She seems super excited about the potty training and keeps cheering. Lol.

Agnes: "No more diapers, yay!"

These must be the feelings of a parent. XD

When Daddy does get ready, he helps Alisha learn to walk. I always love watching this. :D So cute. They'll have her all trained up in no time. ^_^

Lief: "You bet. We're dedicated parents. When we're not working"

Agnes is having some time to herself, enjoying one of her favourite hobbies. She just has one more skill point to get before she has the painting skill maxed out. Her LTW is to master the painting and writing skills (I think it's illustrious author). I don't know if we can achieve it in her lifetime because she doesn't have any writing skills but I could certainly try. This by the way, is a picture of Alisha's teddy.

Agnes: 'I thought it might look good in the nursery"

Looks like someone needs some coffee. Lol. She finally finished the painting but is in somewhat of a foul mood again. One of her favourite frothy drinks ought to be just the right pick-me-up.

Agnes: "I want to work on my writing skill before I die, that's all"

The drink soon has her feeling better and she's started to nod along to the music playing on the stereo. Agnes' favourite music is classical, which we have switched the station to. Her favourite colour is spice brown and her favourite food is lobster thermidor. Lief's favourites are red, Latin and spaghetti and Alisha's are orange, soul music and egg rolls. I think she's going to grow up with some spunk. So far her personality traits are neurotic and friendly, which isn't too bad. It's like my Siamese cat. Lol.

Agnes is invited to a party this time.

Agnes: "Oh good, I needed to get out of the house for a while"

And who should happen to be there but Cornelia Goth! Agnes, go and talk to her. You haven't been able to catch up for a while. She might not recognise you in your new formalwear. Cornelia is also getting pretty old.

The sisters spend some quality time together, chatting, laughing and then dancing. I think that walking stick was just for show, ha ha. Go Cornie, go! Look at those moves.

While her mum and her aunt are out partying, Alisha has once again been tucked up in bed, this time with Hesper replacing Mr Bear. She must be tuckered out after mastering the ability to walk. Phew! That's one down, two to go. And we only have a handful of days left.

This party looks like it's going great. Other Sims are enjoying it as much as the sisters, with this Sim giving (I think her name is Judy? Not sure) Mrs Bunch a bunch of flowers. I read on Sims wiki that the Bunch family might be a reference to the Brady Bunch series. It'd be fun to play that household sometime. Actually, I can't remember if this is their house because I forget whose party Agnes is at. Oh well.

Oops, I should really write notes or something. I've forgotten when this picture was taken too.  Anyway, when we're short on time she gets bottles instead of her normal toddler mush, so it's probably morning. Lief's got some new clothes today. I like to change them around every now and then to add some variety.

Okay, so I skipped some time as nothing much happened of interest. Until this. Rose was levitating the bedside table while everyone was asleep. She's been floating around the house most of the night. Good to know she's still with us. X3 Though I don't know what Agnes and Lief would do if they saw that table floating in the air.

I gave Alisha a new outfit as well. In fact, I changed all of her clothes. Her favourite babysitter is back again. Alisha looks happy to see him.

Louie: "Looks like it's going to be just you and me today"

If you managed to catch a glimpse of the snow outside Alisha's window, you'll know that winter is here again. Ten days of snow, ice and the winter festival! I think Alisha will be grown up just in time for Snowflake day so that's going to be fun. Anyway, more pictures in the next post to see what my Sims get up to and for now I'll leave you with this nice chilly scene. :) Thanks for reading.
