Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch1, Part7

The alien spaceship or UFO as it should probably be called, returned several hours later to an empty house. Lief's bachelor party of two other people had come to a sad end. The frozen balloons were the only reminder he had attempted to have one. Not that the aliens seemed to care.

The ship hovered low and Lief was beamed down, along with an alien who had greyish green skin. They disappeared shortly after seeing him off, leaving Lief no time to give them a piece of his mind. He was too traumatised anyway, but it would have been nice. Ha ha.

The negative 'probed' moodlet stayed with him for quite a long time. Fortunately, he seems to be all in one piece.

Lief: "They did unspeakable things...unspeakable things..."

I think we'd better let him rest for a while after that encounter.

Oh look! I forgot to mention this before. I got Lief a music player and a coffee table for the bachelor party so they could have some music to dance to but it also functions as a handy place to put pictures and keepsakes, like this photo of him and Agnes' when they visited the winter festival and got engaged.

Speaking of winter, there's not much of it left now. Rose is out enjoying the last crisp days before spring melts it all away. She's getting pretty long in the tooth, by the way. She was an old dog when Lief got her because I thought adopting old dogs was a good idea - they need a chance at life, too. And now her life span bar is full. We don't know how much longer we will have her.

Sure enough, spring arrives and the rains that come with it start doing their job. The snow begins to melt, revealing a green carpet underneath and a pile of manky old leaves from last fall.

Lied and Rose were getting ready to welcome a new year but sadly, Rose's time is up. She lived to see the first days of spring and now she must leave.

Lief: "No, Rose...don't go! I never got to take you to that dog park again"

Lief: "Ahhhhh!"

Dumbstruck with terror when the black hooded figure appears in his living room, Lief can only watch as events unfold. A familiar feeling of helplessness stops him from moving.

Grim pays him no heed and sets about his business as usual. He deals with this sort of thing all the time.

Lief: "Why is there an evil presence in my apartment? What is he going to do to Rose?"

I suppose you wouldn't know about the Grim Reaper at all, coming from CAS. Lol.

Lief: "This isn't funny! Make him go away"

Rose doesn't seem to be afraid of him. Her little ears fly up in curiosity as she steps towards the Reaper.

Grim: "Here little doggy, that's a good girl"

Lief: "Oh my god, he's taking her!"

Sorry to break it to you, but that's actually his job. He's here to take anyone who needs to into the afterlife.

Lief: "Anyone? What if he comes after me next?! Maybe I should go with Rose"

Oh, sorry! I mean to say, 'when they die'. It kind of makes a difference if you leave that part out.

Lief: "Huh?"

See? Grim is a nice guy. He's caring and affectionate and seems to love animals. :D I think Rose is in good hands.

Lief: "B-but now what's he doing? He's got a stick..."

Uhhh...this bit I don't know. Rose looks like she wants to play though.

Grim: *toss*

Rose is going after it into the light! Ooooo! She leaps up and floats into the shimmering light before vanishing along with the Grim.

Lief: "That's not fair"

And now, Rose dog is gone.

Lief: "Oh, it was horrible! He tricked her into the light!" *sob sob*

Lief is taking it a little hard. Poor guy. With all that's happened, I decided to pack Rose's food bowl and things away into the family inventory. He probably doesn't need reminders everywhere to make him mourn.

Nope, he doesn't. Lief is mourning all on his own. Making breakfast, in the bathroom, before bed, after waking up, before leaving for work...

All the crying and sobbing is really quite touching. Rose, you're sorely missed.

Lief drags himself to bed sadly, thinking of his canine companion. In fact, this bed is a new one from his old bed but I forgot to mention it earlier. We got it so he'd sleep better and be in a better mood for work. Not that it's going to help much for a few days.

But in a few day's time, just as Lief has gotten over his mourning period and is starting to remember all the good times they shared, he gets a special visitor. It's very early in the morning and Lief's in the kitchen making breakfast. I heard a strange sound so I went to check where it was coming from and - ROSE! She came out of her urn.

The ghostly red Rose floats her way to the couch and makes herself comfortable, sparkling and glowing brightly. This is probably because her bed's in the inventory. Whoops!

Meanwhile, Lief remains focused on his task. It's an opportunity that popped up so we're going to do it.

Some of the kids in his classes have apparently been getting hungry, which has stopped them focusing on their schoolwork. So Lief is baking them a sweet and tasty pumpkin pie. I hope he gets a nice reputation for being the teacher that brings desserts in to feed to his students. Lol.

For himself, he ran out of time to have a proper breakfast so he grabbed some bread and jam. It takes him a while to notice who's sitting beside him.

When he does notice her, Lief is overjoyed! He plays a game of tug o war with Rose before leaving for work, happy that he still gets to see his friend, even though she's now in a different form.

That evening, Lief invited some friends over for some fun. Milton and Agnes join him for a rousing game of horseshoes. Agnes mutters away crankily on the sidelines in between turns. And Lief also got promoted! Playing a game with work colleagues seems a...fitting way to celebrate?

Oops, we've been so busy we haven't had time to do anything about Lief's birthday. He sparkled up into an adult halfway through the game, leaving his time as a young adult behind.

Lief: "Don't say it like that, you're making me feel old!"

The spring festival rolled into town and I decided we could have a belated celebration for both birthday and promotion. There was a deer at the park as well. Which doesn't have anything to do with anything except that Lief got a positive moodlet for seeing it. Maybe it likes the party balloons.

Agnes and Lief head for the dance floor. We aren't aiming to win the title for dancing the longest, just to keep the relationship going well.

Cornelia Goth seems to have other ideas about such matters. Here's Lief's boss at the kissing booth! Oh dear.

Agnes and Lief get as far away as they can by jumping into the skating rink. They try a spin together.

And fall over instead. A few more rounds of that and Lief decides to try his hand at something less accident prone.

Playing his guitar in the park. The poor thing has been neglected in his inventory since that day in winter. It's time to dust it off and improve those musical skills. The 'Golden Fingers' part of Lief's lifetime wish needs to be worked on. It's a good thing he did this too, because an opportunity popped up to help him learn some new sheet music.

Night falls and the spring festival is coming to a close today. Before going home, we stop to buy a delicious looking treat. Ice cream - yummm.

The next morning, Lief isn't dressed in his old uniform. I think he's now a middle school teacher. He has a new ride as well. Because he's eco-friendly, Lief gets positive moodlets from carpooling to work. I must say, that new outfit is rather smart on him. XD

Lief: "I thought the purple stripy tie was the best"

Later that evening when he gets home from work, my founder is reading the paper when...

Lief: "Hey, what do you think? Agnes is coming over and I'm practising a new look. Think she'll go for it?"

What is it supposed to be exactly?

Lief: "I'm a 'distinguished gentleman'...I thought she would like it"

Ah yes, because distinguished gentlemen sit on their couches in their nice suit and stripy tie eating goopy carbonara with their fiancé. Makes perfect sense! ^_^
