Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch1 , Part6

Winter has arrived and to celebrate, Lief is outside in the snow, enjoying the magic of the season. He's sure to find plenty of inspiration for songs in the great outdoors with the glittering beauty of winter all around. Snowflake Day is fast approaching and it will be Lief's first one.

Practising the guitar was fun for a while yet we couldn't do that all day long, so instead Lief invited Agnes out on another date. This time they're going to the winter festival in the park. A friendly snowman greets them upon arrival.

Lief: "It's hard to decide what to do first. Agnes, what do you think?"

Agnes: "We are right near a frozen pond. Why not let us skate on the icy surface?"

Lief thinks that is a great idea, especially as he has rolled a specific want to go ice skating on a pond with Agnes. The couple don their skates from out of nowhere and start gliding around as the snow continues falling.

I should be getting used to seeing strange things by now. I am not sure what to make of these. There were two stands where children were selling baked goods. Since he was getting a bit peckish, I ordered Lief over to go and buy a thing or two but before he could do so, the child behind the stall disappeared and the interaction cancelled out! O.O He didn't get his cake, his pie or his chocolate brownie. Booo! And we were going to give one as a gift to Agnes.

Ah well, sweets or no, they still managed to have a good time. Next activity was building a snowman! Lief started it off while Agnes watched appreciatively, clapping to show her delight. Agnes: "Ooh, he can make friends with all the other snowmen!"

If Lief's fingers don't drop off from being numb beforehand, that is.

It doesn't take long for Agnes to join in. She digs her gloveless hands into the freezing snow with glee and their sculpture starts to take shape. Other Sims are building igloos and making snow angels, or trying their luck at snowboarding.

Ta-da! Mr Hockey Snowman is finished! Well done, you two. He looks very friendly. And with thtat hockey stick, he'll be able to beat off any dogs or Grim Reaper snowmen that get a little too close.

Lief: "That's the idea!"

Oh what have we here? Lief was just on his way to grill a meal of fish and chips for himself and his date when a wild horse ran through the park. The poor thing must be spooked with so many people around.

Lief: "Why does this keep happening? Am I a magnet for wild animals?"

So it would seem.

He waits for the wild horse to move on and then reaches the grill. I find myself wishing we could buy food from the concession stands for more than one Sim at a time. I'm not sure if there's a way to do that. It'd be nice to watch them drink hot chocolate and eat gingerbread instead of such a summer food on the grill. Ha ha. Fish and chips in the snow seems a bit silly! That's probably why this whole picnic area is deserted.

Lief: "I burnt it anyway. Awww"

Darn, that's too bad. What a waste of time and food. And to top it off, Agnes just told us she's going home. She had a great time yet doesn't want to stay. Lief's teeth are chattering so I suppose it's time we head back and warm up too. He has work the next day.

Look at the little house now! It's like a gingerbread house with icing on top. The snow transforms everything into a wonderland. It looks so peaceful and pretty.

The next day, Lief gets ready for work. He's dressed in his elementary school teacher outfit and truly looks like one. I think it suit him! He still likes to clip coupons out of the newspaper, although we haven't been using them lately because they've been books we don't need, or seaweed facials. Rose is out hunting for collectibles again. I send her off to keep her occupied while Lief is busy at work all day. He doesn't get home till 3:00pm so it keeps her out of mischief. It's a long day for her otherwise.

That afternoon when he got home from work, he had to give Rose a bath. She'd been out all day and found some treasures but she'd also picked up some nasty fleas. Even though he was tired and hungry, her owner made time to bath her straight away. And Lief seemed to like it!

Lief: "Of course I do. I always make time for my Rosie Posie!" *kissyface*

A man who loves his dog <3

Lief: "But not her fleas"

And as you can see, we've decorated the house in time for Snowflake Day! We still haven't found Lief a tree yet because it's a bit too expensive but as soon as he gets paid, we'll be buying one. The atmosphere feels festive all the same. Rose is much happier after her bath, too. Although right after I took this, she shook herself inside and sprayed water all over Lief and the floor. Silly puppy. X3 It'd be fun if you could make Sims towel-dry them...some dogs go all adorable and loopy when you do that and go racing round the house with their fur all fluffed up, rubbing their ears on the carpet. Watching my Sim trying to towel-dry a wriggling dog sure would be fun!

It's getting late and Lief's stomach is growling so dinner time for Rose and him. Lief gets leftover veggie rolls while Rose gets her gourmet dog food. Time to get some sleep after that so there's not much point taking a picture. Unless you want to see Lief snoring.

Lief: "I do not snore!"

Snowflake Day has arrived! Lief has got a Christmas Tree just in time to celebrate. He invited his love over to join him because Agnes wasn't doing anything much.

While Lief sat down and admired his sparkly tree waiting for her to arrive, Agnes got into the spirit of things by making a snow angel on the front door step. How lovely! And Rose...had fun almost getting buried in the snow that was much deeper than her stubby legs.

Lief invited Agnes inside and they noticed the Mistletoe. We got an achievement from the kisses shared underneath it! These special moments will become memories to be treasured.

Lief decided to cook them a warming and tasty dish of spaghetti with veggie sauce. The delicious aroma wafted through the small bungalow.

He tried his best but he was starting to feel tired. He'd gone to bed late the night before and woken up early. As Lief let his thoughts wander, what happened next was not really that shocking.

Lief: "Ugh...I'm sleepy"

Lief: "Oh no, is it meant to be that colour? It smells kinda...burnt"

And charred to a black mess it is! The stovetop took some of the damage. I'm afraid it's not good enough to eat. Sorry my dear, you'll have to try again. Chop-chop!

Now that's pretty good for someone who's half asleep on their feet. I had him re-make it and it turned out just fine. Lief's favourite meal happens to be spaghetti so I'm sure this is a meal he'll enjoy.

Lief:"I like it better without veggie sauce on it but I guess this'll do"

He wanted to make Agnes' favourite meal, though it was a little out of his league.

Lief: "A little? Her favourite food is Lobster Thermidor. I don't even have the ingredients"

Well, spaghetti looks yummy too. ^_^ Our Agnes has a classy taste in dining.

Yes, you're using the table!

Agnes: "Ish dat strange sohmow?"

No, no, just making a comment.

Lief: "She's happy we're not on the couch"

Well, I just think a table with flowers is a smidge more romantic.

Dinner was lovely and Agnes went home. Lief had finished washing the dishes and was just about ready for bed. He was refilling the dog dish when...pssssssshhhh!

Lief: "Darn it! Don't tell me, the sink just broke"

Let's ignore it and pretend it's all okay. XD

Lief: *sigh* "Every time I start to save some money, something else breaks"

The next morning, to take Lief's mind off his money woes, I sent him off to the Winter Festival again. Agnes wanted to make another snowman and happily chatted about the latest novels she'd read. Lief decided to be ambitious and rolled a want to make 5 snowmen. He's already forgetting about his troubles. Including the money we just used to buy him a new sink. (I'm slowly replacing the old cheap stuff as they break and putting newer models in, one item at a time).

Whoa, this time around they made the Sad Clown Snowman! Poor little clown, it looks so forlorn. Agnes, I think he wants a hug.

Agnes: "Oh no, haven't you ever read that story? I'm not inviting a sad clown to follow me home and pull me into despair. And the end is even spookier...you have to burn the painting"

Er, can't say I've read that one. Aw, come on, it's just a snowman.

Yet Agnes was more content to practise her ice skating skills on the rink with Lief. And I spotted this funny sight! It looks like Mr Hockey snowman has defeated Grim Reaper snowman for real. Ha ha! It's far too cold and frosty for him to have just melted, don't you think? ;)

Now, what is this? Lief is getting down on one knee. He's talking about a ring. Yes - the time is right to offer Agnes a proposal. She's not getting any younger and Lief hasn't got any other candidates. The dates they've had have all ended with positive moodlets and wonderful memories.

Agnes: "Lief, what are you doing? Are we making another snowman again? Did you drop your phone?"

Lief: "I know I've got it around here somewhere...where's that ring?"

Agnes: "Ring...what do you...ohmygosh! Oh my gosh!"

Lief: "Agnes Crumplebottom, will you marry me?"

Pfft! Bwahahaha!

I mean, aww, how romantic. (Sorry, it's just her name. I have an immature sense of humour).

Agnes: "Yes, Lief McLear, I will marry you without a second thought"

Lief: "I will be honoured to call you Agnes McLear, my love"

Agnes: "Ooo, how did you afford those diamonds?"

Great! Now all we have to do is organise the wedding.

To end off the magical day, Lief got some warm gingerbread before heading home. Wouldn't you know it, his phone rang before he could eat any. It turned out to be a friend, wanting to catch up. And this reminded us to throw Lief a Bachelor party! He only has two close friends and he met them both at work yet that's okay. This is Sims! :D Who said you can't be friends with the other teachers and playground monitors? Lol.

The small bachelor party gets off to a great start. Milton Tong and Gage Briody both turn up on time and get into the swing of things. Everyone is dancing and there's plenty of activities to do. Lief's outfit isn't bad either. I love that hat.

Gage gives a speech while Lief and Milton listen enthusiastically. It doesn't matter that there are only three people in the room. The rules of the bachelor party call for a speech.

Gage: "Congratulations to the man who tamed the strictest playground monitor in Sunset Valley. And then married her"

Ah, it brings tears to my eyes. XD

Lief is perhaps not so familiar with the rules of the bachelor party. He wasn't expecting to be sprayed with a bottle of nectar.

Gage: This is gonna be a pain to clean up later. I'm glad it's not my house

Lief: "Augh! What are you doing? Somebody call the police!"

Lol.

He soon got the idea though and returned the favour. Albeit dressed in his underwear.

Lief: "Ha ha, take that, and that! Ha ha ha!"

It was all going so well, until...

There was a strange whirring, whining sound and Lief ran outside into the snow (tossing on some winter apparel on the way, lol. He spun into them at the door). Coloured lights were dancing in the sky. Intrigued, Lief went to investigate, leaving his mates to continue partying without him.

A strange alien ship descended from the heavens, phasing into view out of the snowflakes and thin air. Lief could do nothing but stare, transfixed.

Lief: "What...what is this? Is this their idea of a joke? I mean, I know people pull pranks at these parties but - waaahhhh! Ahhhh! Put me down, put me down!"

Lief is sucked up into the vessel by a tractor beam of aqua light. There is nothing I can do but watch as my Sim is kidnapped right in the middle of his bachelor party.

Gage: "Hey, where's the groom? Isn't he supposed to be at his own party?"

Milton: "Dunno...he went outside or somefin'..."

None the wiser, Lief's friends try to party on without him but eventually end up going home, thinking he ditched them. Lief got a few negative moodlets, including 'groomzilla' and 'lame party'. I just don't think it's going to go over too well if he tries to tell them "I was kidnapped by aliens"
