Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch2, part 16

Well we are up to 16 parts. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes all the way to 20. Here I am back again with more screenshots of what my Sims have been up to. In case you haven't noticed, I changed the blog's name and address as well. Sims Sweet Stories was sounding a bit too sappy and didn't really work that great so I changed it to something more simple. Sometimes what I thought sounded good at one time doesn't work out as good as I imagined. Though, that's not the case with my Sims game. I'm still enjoying it. I just got another expansion pack at a nice sale price! Of course, the main reason for that is the Sims 4 coming out but I'm not ready for it yet. I still haven't explored everything the Sims 3 has to offer and I really like this challenge.

Now let's see what's happening back at the family home. Aha! Another burglar. But this time, we have a burglar alarm. I finally remembered to buy it. Take that, mister burglar!

Burglar: "Aww, no fair. When did this thing get here?"

Naturally, the police were around in a jiffy to apprehend the would-be thief. No one's going to steal our computer and washing machine this time. Don't know why but those are the two items they always go straight for.

Marshall: "Ugh, what is that awful racket? I'm trying to sleep". I still haven't changed his pajamas to something more manly. Lol. I kinda like the Hello Kitty design.

Marshall: "Oh no, a burglar! Ahhh!"

In true cowardly style, he hits the floor. I think he should have stayed in bed.

Alisha: "Well, looks like the new burglar alarm is working!"

Police: "Stop right there, thief, you're not going anywhere!"

There is then a brief tussle, in which we hope the police win. All the while, the burglar alarm shrieking its shrill warning.Really, I have to turn the volume down or take out my earphones when this thing goes off. It's really annoying.

Yes! The police has emerged victorious! This burglar won't be bothering us again.  Or at least I hope not.

Police: "Take that, burglar. And stay there!"

As it happens, every Sim in the house has had their sleep disturbed this night, thanks to their unwanted visitor.

Brent: "I wonder what it would be like to be a police officer. They must have to put up with a lot of burglar alarms"

Without further ado, the burglar is handcuffed and taken away so the alarm finally stops.

Alisha: "Can you please shut the door on the way out? You're letting all the cold air in"

Oh look, finally someone is using the couch in the living room. This is the least used room in the house so it's nice to see my Sims using it. Brent is watching cartoons while waiting for the school bus.

Ah, here it is, right on time. This will be Brent's first day of school on a chilly autumn day. The seasons have been made longer but it seems like it's still cold a lot of the time. Spring is filled with rain and autumn and winter have lots of frost and snow. I might lengthen summer again so we have more sunny days. They seem to go by so fast.

Brent: "Hey. How come there's no other kids on the bus?"

Bus driver: "We'll pick them up on the way"

Looks like Brent gets to sit anywhere he wants. All the time. Because I never see any other Sims on this bus. I do wonder if the npc driver can be interacted with somehow.

While Brent goes off to his first day of school, Alisha continues tasks of her chosen profession, giving makeovers to the Sims of Sunset Valley. Doing this job, we get to see all sorts of different houses and the Sims who live in them. Alisha often forms friendships with her clients. This house had interesting wallpaper.

Next up for a makeover, it's Marshall's sister, Jesse. I can't quite recall but I think she wanted something nice to go out with in the evenings. So, here's our attempt! :)

Alisha: "Here, I'll just twist to the side so you can see past me"

While his dad upgrades their TV, Brent discovers the joys of homework for the first time as well. I'm still having trouble getting Marshall to go to work, so I've been letting him upgrade all sorts of items around the house.

At some point during the colder months, Marshall takes the dog for a walk, an interaction I've not used as much as I wish. Lucky needed to get out of the house and Marshall's always up for some exercise so off they went. It looks like it might be a bit cold though. Winter is pretty much here, and it brought all its snow with it.

Morning dawns on a clear, snowy day in Sunset Valley. I never get tired of this view.

Brent admiring the collection of awards and trinkets his parents have amassed, including the little music box. The poster on the wall is from Alisha's trip to the mausoleum in high school. The crown is from her night as prom queen. The photo is from a date at the winter festival with Marshall. The roses are a gift from Marshall. And the awards are from various things such as their professions (Marshall got one for his brief stint as firefighter).

I just had to take a picture of this house. It has an indoor garden in the middle, complete with raked sand and flower bushes! I think I'll use that idea for one of the housacy homes. Alisha's here to do her stylist work on one of the occupants.

Who apparently wanted a rebellious look. Or something like it. Since I don't quite know what that's supposed to look like, we ended up with this, whatever it is.

Back at home, we have a budding artist. Brent's been practicing his creativity skill with the easel and paints whenever he gets the chance. Building fun, learning a new skill as well as decorating his room with paintings, the easel is a great way to spend my Sim's time.

And the next morning, he gets to have leftover birthday cake for breakfast. It makes for a handy yet terribly unhealthy meal when my sims don't have time or feel like cooking. There's plenty left and it keeps well, so everyone's going to be eating cake for a while thanks to Brent's birthday.

On this lovely morning, Alisha is being woken up by her faithful ghostly companion, Alabaster. I think. Wake up, rise and shine! Your ghost kitty is waiting for you.

And Marshall, who always has way too much time on his hands, is playing with science again! He gets blown up frequently but it never stops him tinkering around with all the chemicals.  He knows how to make all sorts of potions now.I should really get him to test some of them out.

Alisha made something that isn't burnt. Yum! A tasty looking pumpkin pie. The reason behind this is that Brent has a friend over, one of the girls he met at school.

Well, she's a little bit older than Brent by the time we invite her over but she still has a nice time watching cartoons.

And sushi for dinner. Healthy and tasty and not prone to burning.

Marshall's sister comes over for dinner too. She's changed outfits again but I can't remember why. She also has scales on her legs now, which I think has something to do with being a mermaid due to the Island Paradise EP. So now the Decker family is made up of vampires and mermaids. What a combination. I am now wondering whether you can mix them together and get vampiric mermaids.

Brent is still painting away, making more lovely pictures for his bedroom and the house. This one could nearly be of the view from their back patio.

Oh not again. We've lost another pet to old age and time. Dumpling's time to join the other little urn on the dresser has come. I can't recall what I was doing at the time but I missed the scene with the Grim Reaper and had to find the urn.

Which thankfully, was easy to find. Hopefully she'll come out of her urn and visit us all soon. Gone, but not for long. I'll look forward to seeing her haunt the place.

Brent's room, with all the paintings he's done so far. He's getting better with each new skill point.

Now that we have 2 ghost cats floating around and Alisha's still got her life time wish of adopting 6 strays, we decide to pick up the phone and adopt another pet. This time, it's something a little different and has hooves. ^_^  Isn't he cute?

Aww! You can bottle feed him. Him, because again I didn't write the name down. I'm terrible with remembering names. He does have a name though, I've just got to go back into the game and check.

Another one of Brent's classmates is over for a visit, this time someone his own age. We're making as many friends as we can at an early age, so Brent will have lots of friends and possible spouses in future.

Dumpling's come out to say hello. That didn't take her long.

Brent, having nice dreams after cleaning his teeth and going to bed. I honestly forget why I took this screenshot. That happens when I've been away for a while and come back to it. I do have a notebook, I just have to remember to write notes in it.

Alisha's not the only one to look after our new family member. Since he has nothing better to do, Marshall helps take care of all the animals while she's out styling sims. Unfortunately the animals don't take to him as well as Alisha, who has the animal lover trait. It's going to take a bit of time to win this foal's trust. Also, I have no idea what's going on with the lawn here.

Marshall: "I was only trying to clown around a little, but he doesn't want to play with me"

Since Brent was feeling a little stressed with his new routine of school, homework and making friends, I sent him to play dress ups. Was certainly fun to watch him parading around pretending to be a prince.

Brent: "Hello, my loyal readers. I hope you are enjoying our housacy"

The teddy bear, or 'magic laundry gnome' that Marshall found in the dryer one day pops up in the oddest of places. Here, he's helping Brent with his homework. Well, not really.  But he looks cute.

Brent: "Is that thing alive? I swear it's following me"

And here, I have no idea. Maybe he wanted some new stuffing.

Our horse, all grown up. He grew up pretty fast, within 3 days or so. No more bottle feeds for this guy. I also changed his mane and tail, so they match.

Alisha's at it again, this time making over a vampire Sim! He seems to be happy with his new look. Nice work, Alisha. I do hope that's faux crocodile skin your jacket is made of.

Later that day Alisha has a friend over to visit. In fact, I think they're neighbors. This woman often invites Alisha to parties.

Woman: "Is this a home made pie? It's really nice"

Alisha: "It is. I measured out all the ingredients carefully and I didn't even burn it!"

And Brent has another friend over too. He's also helping take care of the family pets, since we have so many now. One horse, a macaw, a lizard and a dog, not to mention two ghost cats and one live cat.

Marshall: "Oh no, why did this guy have to visit? Haven't we had enough burglars already? Why do they always target our house?"

All good questions, my dear Simmie. And none that I have the answers to. Lol. But the burglar alarm is doing it's job.

Marshall: "Tell me about it. I wasn't trying to sleep or anything"

Marshall: "Oh. I feel faint"

There he goes again. I know being burgled is scary but really, come on, you should be used to it by now. Silly sim. XD

Once again the whole house got woken up. At least it was over with quickly and they could all go back to bed. Nothing was stolen, which is good. Thanks to our good Sim police, it was a peaceful rest of the night.

Nothing too much of interest happened for the rest of winter. So roll on a very rainy spring and a family visit to the spring festival on Love Day. Brent immediately went egg hunting as soon as they arrived.

Brent: "I found one!"

A little bit of rain didn't slow him down.

Brent: "And another one!"

And another after that. I think he collected nearly all the eggs in the park. He got a decorative egg as a prize.

The whole time we were here it continued to rain but my sims didn't let it dampen their spirits.

Marshall tried out the game machine.

And then there was the old family tradition started by Leif and Agnes, playing horseshoes, whatever the weather.

I've never seen a more jolly looking clown in my sims game. Brent decides to try out the face painting booth too.

Now that he's big enough, Brent can also enjoy the whole playground, rain or no rain. First it's the play house.

Looking out for eggs from his perch high above the park.

While Marshall and Alisha get down on the dance floor and dance in the rain. Later on there was a little announcement saying they won or something. Probably because no other sims wanted to dance in the downpour. Honestly, spring is one of my favourite seasons but I think it rains too much, nearly every day. For Love Day it should have been sunny.

Brent continues to play on the playground, including the bee ride that he tried out as a toddler. It's a shame we forgot to invite some friends to join in.

Looks like he's having a nice time.

And later on, as it gets dark, we're still here. Brent is a bit hungry so he tries out one of the food stands.

Better eat that ice cream quickly before the rain melts it all!

And that marks the end of my Sims' Love Day activities.

The next morning dawns sunny and bright. As usual, Lucky has decided to chase the poor mailman. He learned this bad habit and we haven't been able to break him out of it.

Our other pets are also not to be forgotten. Our Macaw gets some play time as well.

And Brent plays at being a prince again with the dress ups. Gotta love the strutting walk and the sparkles and the expression! He he. The dress up box is a lot of fun.

Alabaster has come out of his urn to visit again while all my sims are sleeping.

He meets Poppy and the two catch up on things since last time they met.

And they share a bit of play time as well.

The next day, Alisha decides to invite a friend over for a small get-together. I am pretty sure it's her neighbor from down the street. This is because today is Brent's last day as a child sim. It's his birthday.

"Such beautiful weather, there's not a cloud in the sky"

Everyone has a good time, dancing, playing with the dog and generally enjoying themselves.

Alisha tried to cook lunch.

Which turned out predictably. Oh well, she had a try.

At the end of the party we got this! A brand new teenage Brent, ready to continue the story into the next chapter. Since his favourite colour is red, I included it in most of his outfits. He just has to grow up and move out and we are onto house three of this challenge. Can we make it through all ten generations? Maybe. I'm going to try to make the next chapter a lot shorter so that should help.
