Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch 2, part 10

Hi!

It's been a while, I know.

I haven't given up on this Housacy challenge, oh no. I've just been busy and had lots of stuff happening in real life with health problems and other commitments. But I'm back now to finish chapter two off and start chapter three. Or at least, that was the plan. ^_^; I've tried to make this chapter short and concise and I've failed. Hence Chapter two will continue until we have an heir to make chapter three with. Oh well, it's not like I'm in a massive hurry to finish this. Playing with my Sims is fun and writing about them is equally enjoyable. If it wraps up too soon, I'll be sad. Especially since I've added some more Custom Content and an expansion pack to the game.

Now, it's been a while since I looked at the screenshots I've taken, so I do apologise for any discrepancies. I tried to put all the Housacy screenshots in one folder some months ago. While they were in there, the new pictures were going outside the folder and the game numbered them differently, starting over again at 1. So, ya, the numbering got screwed up and I'm going off my memory.

Anyway, let's get into it. It is a beautiful, peaceful night in Sunset Valley. The view from our new modern style house on top of the hill is really something. And look - we can wave to our neighbours on the other side! Helloooo~! :D

Alisha moved out during the spring, I think. This just shows that autumn doesn't want to move over and share. The days are mild and sunny but the nights still get a little frosty. Brrr~! Good thing we have a nice house to snuggle up in. :) It'd be awfully chilly sitting on a hill with the wind coming off the water. Hmm, that reminds me; wouldn't it be too salty this close to the ocean for frost to form?

Of COURSE! >.> In the wee hours of the morning only a few days after we move in, someone  would come and rob us! :(  Alisha hasn't been in her new house or her new stylist career long enough to buy all the furniture and now we're about to lose some of what's there. All because someone forgot to buy a burglar alarm.

...oops.  ._. That might have been me.

The thief  tiptoes across the crunchy front lawn to our door. She has had her eyes on some very specific item and tonight, she is going to get them.

The thief sneaks in through the front door, which Alisha leaves unlocked, thinking that we should be able to trust people in this small town. Alas, it seems our trust is about to be broken yet again. Dumpling sleeps on, unaware or uncaring that a stranger just snuck into the house. She dreams of her owner, or maybe she thinks Alisha can deal with this, cause Miss D has to catch up on her beauty sleep.

As the burglar enters the house, Dumpling remains curled up in her cat bed, dreaming pleasant dreams about catty things. She's not getting up for anything, too warm and comfy in the bed, and the tiles outside it are cold.

Thankfully the burglar bypasses her and heads for Alisha's  home office. Now what could she possibly want from there?

She steals....our computer! Sucking it into her magic bag of holding, never to be seen again. Oh well, we can always buy another. It wasn't the most expensive model on the market.

Next, our burglar creeps into the bathroom and for whatever reasons, sucks up our lovely corner tub. Rats! I really liked that bathtub.

Poor Alisha sleeps on, completely unaware.  She was most unhappy the next day.

The burglar makes off with the goods, thus ending our very first burgle in our new house. I wonder if we locked the door, would it lock them out. But then, they might pick the lock. Best to plonk a burglar alarm on the wall as soon as possible. Whoever this burglar was, I think they're in for some bad karma later on!

After the chilly night, it's a sunny spring day. Alisha happened to be a bit peckish, so we got a treat from the ice cream truck.
Alisha: "One chocolate ice cream, please"

Looks tasty, you enjoy that. :)

Alsiha: "Don't be fooled by my blissful expression. This thing tastes old. Like, a bit off. I don't think they're selling freshly made products here"

Oh well, better not try that again. What a shame. Luckily, my Sim didn't get food poisoning. o_o Hey, if that tastes old, why are you still eating it?

Alisha "I'm hungry!"

At some point after finishing work, (I really can't remember but she's dressed in her work uniform, so she must have gone to work), Alisha and I went back to our goal of winning over Marshall Decker to enslave him into our legacy. Er, I mean, meet up on an outing. Of course, it had to start raining; something Marshall doesn't seem too happy about.

Marshall "Not more rain. This happens every time we go out".

Alisha: "Hey, you have an umbrella. I left mine at home"

Marshall "Oh. Well I feel kind of bad having one if you don't have one. Let's both be umbrella-less together". (lol)

Alisha "Sure. Just let me spin into my normal day clothes again". And the date started looking up from there. Since I had to reload Alisha because of the glitch, we've had to rebuild their relationship from square one. Thankfully, it's been fairly easy. It does make for a bit of a setback though; another reason why chapter two has ended up being longer than anticipated.

Remember Alisha's childhood friend? I think his name is Chuck Fischer. He was the kid wearing the really mismatched outfits and the beanie. Turns out he's completely insane, (or something). He turned up for the Easter egg hunt dressed in a bath towel and dress shoes. Methinks it'd be fun to give him a makeover and pick a wardrobe with crazy colours and patterns.

Another successful date with Marshall was followed by a visit from Alisha's dad, Leif. We invited him over because we didn't know how much time he had left and I thought it might be nice for Alisha to see him before he goes to the afterlife. Please forgive the glaringly bright outfit she has on. It was my attempt at trying to incorporate Alisha's likes and traits into her outfit. ^///^ She had to get changed after her rainy date in the park.

Leif: "Thanks for inviting me over. So, how are you settling in? Gosh this is quite a big house, isn't it?"

Alisha: "Yeah, it's huge compared to our old house. I mean, I like the space. As for settling in; I love it here! The view is absolutely gorgeous. Anyway, come in, I'll show you around. And I'll make us some tea".

Leif: "Okay, sure"

Leif: "I'd love to see the rest of...eh? what? Oh no, not this again!"

Alisha: "What's happening? No! Why?! Dumpling only just saved you"

Leif: "Ah well, I got one last chance to see my daughter. I suppose I'm satisfied with my life"

Alisha: "But you haven't seen all the house yet"

Leif: "I got to see what was most important, Alisha. Promise me you'll continue the legacy I and your mother started. Then when we meet again some day in the afterlife you can fill me in on what I missed"

Alisha: "Okay dad, I will"

Leif: "Now we just have to wait for-"

Disembodied Voice of DOOM: "Lief McLear!....I am here to claim your soul and guide it to the afterlife - oh, crud! This isn't working right. Gimme a minute..."

Alisha: "Is that a scythe sticking out of the wall?" o_o

Leif: "Aha, he's right on time"

Grim Reaper: *mumble-grumble-mutter-mutter* Stupid walls...should just be able to float through them.

Alisha: "I'm going to miss you, dad"

Leif: "Don't worry, he's an old friend of Agnes' and myself. You can always talk to Grim and ask how we're going if you miss us too much"

Alisha: "Really? Thanks, I'll remember that"

Grim: "Are you ready this time, mortal?"

Leif: "As much as I'll ever be, old pal."

Grim: "Good. Now, take my hand. I don't usually do this for mortals but I don't want any repeats of last time and the afterlife can be difficult to navigate"

Leif: "Bye Alisha. And remember, I love you"

Alisha: "Thank you Grim. Please take good care of him"

Grimmy: "What do I look like, a babysitter? Hurry up, Soul of Leif, we're going to be late for the afterlife welcoming banquet"

Alisha: "A banquet?! Oh well, I hope dad enjoys it"

Dumpling: "Mroow oww oww~!"

Alisha: "I know Dumpling, good girl. You don't have to feel bad, it was his time to go"

And that's the end of Leif McLear, the founder of our legacy. Hopefully his will shall live on and we make it through ten generations of houses and ten unique Sims. :D Better get back to work on getting Marshall to move in!

To take Alisha's mind off her recent loss, I sent her to work. She had some stylist jobs to do down at the salon.

Alisha: "I think we may try a new hair style, perhaps a wig until your hair grows out longer, and maybe a new style and cut of clothes. Something more flattering, and slimming for your figure".

Customer: "I guess that sounds okay. I am really fond of this shirt...and it's nice not needing to fuss around with long hair"

Alisha: "Well, let's just see what we can do for you today. If you don't like anything, we can always change it".

I think that makeover session went really great - too bad Alisha's customer can't say the same! Honestly, I think it's an improvement on her former look. More modern, more slimming and she has a nicer hairdo to add a touch of femininity.  Unfortunately this customer left unsatisfied. I think it has more to do with Alisha's reputation and small portfolio than it does with her actual skills ;) Hehe.

"OH! I have never been so embarrassed in my life. That's it I'm not coming back here again! Just look at meeeeeee!"

Alisha: "Oh dad, where did I go wrong? She called me young and inexperienced! And now my boss wants to talk to me"

The woman in the fawn coloured suit standing to the left is Alisha's superior at the salon. She also gives makeovers to NPCs.  But it's way more fun being able to makeover the town's residents myself!

Since I didn't want to send the still mourning Alisha home to be on her own, we hung out at the salon for a while. Alisha needs to make friends and it seemed like as good a place as any to meet other sims. But do you notice anything strange about this girl? Pale flesh, oddly coloured eyes...weird fashion sense.

And this guy too! What in the world is wrong with the vampires in our town? A) I thought they were meant to be attractive or at least decent looking, and B) Aren't they supposed to hate daylight? I guess vampires in the world of Sims are a completely different kind. Oh well, it's always nice to break out of stereotypes. Maybe we'll get to makeover these guys sometime.

And look who else happened to show up at work today! He must have heard the news about Leif. Or maybe he just wanted to see Alisha. Either way, Marshall came to have a chat and cheered up our second gen heir. I think we also gave him a makeover 'cause he's got a new hairstyle and a new outfit on.

Alisha: "You're looking good, Marshall! :)"

Marshall: "Thanks. So are you" XD

After socialising, it's time to head home and grab some dinner. Burned spaghetti bol or maybe it was macaroni. All I know was it was something at some point. Lol. Her cooking skills haven't improved much yet.

Alisha: "It's still good, it's still good! I just need to turn the heat down a little bit, and blow the smoke off...it's fine, really! Besides, it's bad to waste food, and I took all this time to make it..."

Ah, this brings back memories. Lol.

After a burnt dinner there wasn't much of interest going on, just Alisha and Dumpling sleeping through the night. Thankfully there were no burglars. The next morning, Dumpling got up and started walking towards her owner's room...Alisha is still sound asleep.

So what was Dumpling up to? Waking up her owner, of course. It was super cute!  What a nice way to start the day, with a furry companion.

Dumpling: "Mroowwooowwowww!"

Alisha: "Snnrrk! Huh? Wha? Oh, morning Dumpling...good kitty. I suppose you want some food"

Hehe. Always is for food, as many cat owners know.

Brrr, look at that frosted lawn out the window! I should have got Alisha to wear her dressing gown.

Alisha: "Here kitty, have a treat"

Once your cat wakes you up, it's really hard to go back to sleep, so Alisha gets up and makes some burnt offerings.

"Hey, these aren't burnt, they're just...crispy. Yeah, that's it. I like them well done"

Alisha is still missing Leif horribly, as you can see while she's doing the laundry. Actually, I think she's channeling a bit of Agnes with that frown! I can definitely see the resemblance to her mum. Lol. Wow, what a miserable expression. Let's do something to turn that frown upside down.

Alisha: "Hey maybe I just really hate doing the laundry *sniffle*"

Don't worry Alisha, I know of something that will make you feel happy and fulfill a bit more of your life time wish. A quick phone call to a shelter is all it takes. :D

And now, we have adopted another kitty! Meet Alabaster. He's a lovely white elderkitty who'll be living here from now on.

Alisha: "Aww, hey kitty. Welcome to your new home"

Alabaster: "Meow?"

Just make sure not to lose him in all the white. Lol.

Alisha switches her focus to helping Alabaster get settled in and get both of them acquainted with each other. First is a little playtime with the springy wall toy. Something I never get tired of watching. *squee*

And of course Dumpling is not forgotten. She wakes up from her nap and joins in the playtime with one of the toys from her toy crate. Playing near another kitty is a good way to get accustomed to their presence and their scent.

A little more napping for Dumpling and a nice brush for Alabaster. Every pet Alisha adopts is going to be fully loved and cared for. I always make sure she spends time with them in between work or social activities.

At last, Dumpling and Ala meet each other properly. Lots of cautious and curious sniffing ensues; hopefully they'll be friends!

The two cats seem to hit it off, and start playing together. That's what we want to see! Now Dumpling will have a companion while Alisha is out of the house, and they can both keep each other company. <3

Items are even shared. Alabaster and Dumpling enjoy scratching the heck out of their cat condo. Good thing I bought one that's big enough for two.

Awwww! Dumpling gave Alabaster a cat bath. Cute. When cats groom each other and play together, it means they are good friends. I think we don't have to worry about these two getting along.

The cat condo is handy for more than just scratching, playing on or observing one's surroundings from a safe place with a good view; it's a neat cubby hole to sleep in as well. Ala gives it a test run for us.

Meanwhile, Dumpling plays by herself for a while, since this is her toy too. She loves the springy bird toy, and Alisha will often sit and play with it with her. A good way to entertain both parties while building relationship. You get that bouncy bird, Dumpling! Show it who's boss! X3

Hey...I think we're going to need another cat dish in the kitchen.

And another cat bed too. Sweet dreams Alabaster, and welcome to the family. <3

Now that her cats are settled in, Alisha can focus on work again. She's been working hard and gotten a promotion, along with a new outfit

Alisha: "I'm not sure what to think about this hairdo though, it's not really me".

And here she is giving another lucky customer a good makeover. He said he wanted to travel but look stylish or something along those lines. I reckon it turned out nicely. And the customer was happy this time too. :)

Alisha: "See? I know what I'm doing!"

Back at home after a busy day breaking in a new cat and working at the salon, it's the opportune time to invite Marshall for a date. They spent some time relaxing in the spa and then enjoying the view from Alisha's house, just talking.

Good news! Marshall stayed the night and we finally convinced him to move in with us. In other news, he made himself at home the next morning by skinny dipping in the spa pool! What?! Lol. At least turn around so you can enjoy the view.

All right, I think I'll end this entry here. We have a ton more photos and a lot more events to come, so they'll be added in the next section. Bye and thanks for reading. Or not.

:)
