Honey's Housacy Challenge Ch2 part 15

Here again with chapter 14. Not that it matters. I just label them to keep track of where we're up to. Or, where I'm up to anyhow. And here for you is a nice picture of elder kitty Poppy, clawing her scratching post. I can't remember why I took this picture, except maybe to show off those pretty markings. She is a very pretty and cute Sim kitty.

Alabaster floating around early in the morning. He likes checking out the cat beds and sleeping on them. This is his old bed. I think he recognises it. Even though he's a ghost kitty now, he still likes doing all the same things; sleeping, playing, eating food. Don't ask me how that works. Lol. I have no idea.

This morning, we find Alisha in her fancy schmancy button onesie and Marshall, who's already up and dressed, sharing a nice breakfast of waffles cooked by Marshall. Probably a good thing, since Alisha often burns things, even with her 5 points in the cooking skill.

Okay, who poisoned the waffles? What? No one did. But then why is Marshall flat out on the floor?

Oh, it's a ghost. I see! Ha ha. Alabaster apparently counts as something scary enough for Marshall to faint from. Even though it's the ghost of his beloved pet cat. Silly Sims. Alabaster doesn't seem too worried though, with a nice bowl of gourmet food to chow down on.

It's Brent Decker's birthday! Hooray! Gee, everything is happening this morning. But time waits for no Sim and we'd better get on with it. Let's blow out the candle on that cake.

Er, never mind the decorative garlands on the walls; today also happens to be Snowflake Day. Brent's one of those lucky Sims whose birthday falls on a holiday. Or, first birthday anyway. Sims age a bit differently than real people. Marshall cheers for his son's transformation, while Alisha helps him blow out the single candle on the yummy looking cake.

Place the baby on the cold, hard floor. And wait... XD

Ta-da! The toddler transformation, complete with a shower of pretty sparkles. We'll see what Brent looks like in a minute.

And of course, the eating of the cake. Underneath the colourful icing is chocolate and vanilla sponge and a layer of cream and jam by the looks of it. Yum.

Outside, the snow continues to fall thickly, making this day live up to its name. The house is decorated with a Snowflake Tree and nearly all of the snowflake day decorations I could find. We will have a gift giving party later.

But first we have to see what Brent looks like! I zoomed in to take a picture while he was playing with the activity table. Hmm, he looks as though he takes after...well, I don't know who he looks like. :/ Alisha has dark hair, so he probably gets that from her. I suppose Brent looks like Brent. It was hard to get a close up of him. His eyes are brown as well as his hair and I think he got Alisha's skin tone. I didn't really notice that Alisha had Agnes' mouth until way later though, so maybe I am just missing something. It will be interesting to watch Brent grow up and see if there are any similarities as he gets older. By the way, I forgot to mention Brent's favourites. His fave colour is RED, his favourite music is R & B and his favourite food is spaghetti. I'll try and include those interests of his somehow. Just because I find them pretty useless otherwise.

And now, back to the fun of Snowflake Day!  It's a very small gift giving party, with our neighbour Karen Crouch, invited to the party. Why are Marshall and Alisha in their bathers on this exceedingly chilly day of the year, you might ask. It's because they jumped into the hot tub before I could stop them. Lol. I guess I can't blame them.

Karen received a gift but I forget what it was. All I know is that she was happy with whatever she got and that it wasn't a fancy drinks machine. Marshall wasn't happy with his gift of a pretty Rainbow Light. I guess it hurt his manly image or something. Lol. It stayed in his inventory until I got curious and put it out in the living room on the coffee table, where it now sits and looks really pretty. As for Alisha, I really can't remember.

Later that night, we have an unwanted visitor. Gee, why does this keep happening?!
Who would do such a thing on Snowflake Day?

And there goes our desktop PC. *sigh* By the way, the spooky poster on the wall is from when Alisha was in high school and went on a trip to the mausoleum. Hehe.  And the prom queen crown is hers too. The little picture on the desk is from when she and Marshall went to the winter festival together and the roses were given from Marshall. It's nice being able to put little personalized touches in the home. <3 I can't recall what that weird sculpture was for, it was a reward for either the stylist profession or the firefighter profession.

And there goes our washing machine. Just great. These thieves always steal the same things. I wonder if that's because those are the two most expensive items on the lot, or maybe the most useful. Either way, it sucks. I still forgot to get a burglar alarm.

A close up of Brent. I didn't realise you could take pictures in Create a Sim so I was surprised to find that it worked. Now we can see him better; brown eyes and brown hair. Here he's wearing his sleepwear outfit of a diaper and t shirt but he normally wears a red and black outfit.

Brent playing in his nursery. I really like this nursery set by Severinka, I believe. It's called the SV Heart Kids Room and it's so cute! >w<

While Brent plays and learns at home, Alisha and Marshall are out doing their jobs. Alisha's got another promotion with her stylist profession, and is getting requests daily from Sims who want her makeover services. I like taking pictures each time she gets a new outfit.

And Marshall in his firefighter profession, is busy capturing angry gnomes that have beset someone's property. Something I found hilarious to watch, especially with the angry gnome music. All you have to do is click the gnome and your Sim will go up and grab the gnomes while they spout steam and expletives.

When Alisha arrives home, she gets a meal and so does Brent. Eating Brent's leftover birthday cake sure saves on cooking time and prevents burnt dishes from Alisha. Too bad Brent's portion had to go through the food processor first. Lol. I'm pretty sure toddlers can eat soft things like cake without doing that to it. But sims put everything for Brent into the processor first and turn it into mush.

Teaching Brent about the finer things in life, such as arts and music. Not really, Marshall's just teaching him to talk. But Brent does have the traits of virtuoso and good, so far.We are working to improve his creativity skill points to help out later on.

Another makeover session with Alisha the Stylist. And do my eyes deceive me or does this guy have scales on his legs?! I know I just installed Island Paradise a few days ago but geez, aren't merfolk meant to be really pretty? T_T Or maybe that's just personal preference on my part.

Didn't do much here. Just a new pair of swim trunks. Ocean themed of course.

And another makeover job for Mrs Wu. I remembered her last name at least. I think her first name is Bree or it could be Victoria. Regardless, she's getting a makeover. :D

Alisha: "Hold on while I grab my magical tools of the trade"

Voila! One new corporate style image for Mrs Wu. And she really liked it. I was quite pleased with how this one turned out.

Aww, just had to take this piccy of a snuggle with Snowy the Snow Bear. I love this interaction, it's just so adorable.

And more important life skills being taught, such as oral hygiene. Good on you, Marshall, teaching him what's important.

Marshall: "There's a red toothbrush and a blue toothbrush and if you mix those colours together, you'll get a purple toothbrush".

Brent: "Toothbrush!"

Woah, woah woah, Marshall, aren't you forgetting something? o_o

Marshall: "Nope, don't think so. I got my cleaning sponge, got some lizard food..."

No. I mean, your clothes! Where are they?

Marshall: "Oh those? Well, look at that, I seem to have forgotten to put any on"

Lol. Seriously not sure why this happened. He just hopped out of the shower and ran around like this. Not such a good idea when you have those big open windows looking out onto the street. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, Marshall now runs everywhere. I am not sure if that's due to his high athletic points or because he has the athletic trait but he does literally run all the time. Silly sim. Made me laugh. Lol.

Since it's such a nice spring day, it's time for a stroll to the park. Alisha wanted to take Brent for a walk, so off we go with stroller in hand, combining fun and exercise with fresh air.

We made it all the way to the park, where there is an adorable playground waiting. Brent is too little to play on most of the things, except for the bouncy riders. He possibly could go down the slide, but there's no interaction for that.

Hehe, cute, aren't they? They light up and play music while bobbing around.  We spent quite a while here.

Oh no! While I was out and about with my other two sims, Dumpling passed away. I heard the Grim Reaper music but was zoomed out looking over the town, and didn't see what happened. Until I came home and saw this. Poor Dumpling, you will be missed.

Now there's two little urns to keep each other company atop the chest of drawers. Hopefully they'll come out and visit often. <3

Everyone is mourning the loss of their pet cat.  Alisha and Marshall comfort each other over Dumpling's passing the next morning.

Alisha: "I just feel so bad that I wasn't here"
Marshall: "I feel bad that I was here but I fainted and missed what happened"

Still, life goes on and Alisha's back at styling the Sims of Sunset Valley. Here our model is wearing one of the new outfits that (I think), came with the Island Paradise expansion pack.  A little short for my tastes but a nice summery dress all the same. And yes, Alisha's moving up the ladder again, with another new outfit to show off.

When she gets home, she spends some time teaching our resident toddler sim how to walk. Meanwhile, Marshall...I am not sure. There was another glitch with my game where he wouldn't go to work no matter how many times I clicked to tell him to go there, either on the work site itself, or on his panel. It cancelled out the action every time. So I had him switch careers to professional athlete and he still wouldn't go to work, it just cancels out. So now he's a stay at home dad, until I can find a way to fix that. Anyway, the reason Alisha's teaching Brent to walk and not Marshall, is because I want mum to spend time with her child too So this was good for them both. Plus, this is Brent's last day as a toddler and we need to complete this skill.

The next morning sees a fog roll in off the ocean, along with steady rain. What a lovely view.

And this is exactly where I like to be on those rainy, misty days. Curled up in bed, sleeping in or curled up in bed, playing sims. Lol.

Brent's last day as a toddler, and last time to sleep in the little crib. Makes me sort of wish I set my sim's life span to long instead of normal. I was going to set them to be shorter but I went back and read the challenge rules and it only says you can have normal or long life spans for your sims, so I left it as normal.

And here's the cake.

Alisha: "Isn't that exactly the same cake as the one he had last time? I'm not impressed".

Hey, if you want him to have a different cake, you'll have to bake one because that's all there is. Lol.

At least somebody seems to like it. Maybe I'll go download some more birthday cakes, since we're going to use them all through the legacy.
Brent: "Cake! Yummy!"

Alisha: "Oh well, I guess if Brent isn't going to mind, we can live with it. It does taste yummy, like he says".

Marshall: "This is how you blow out the candle, see? Phweeeeee!"

Our third generation heir is now a child! Brent is walking, talking and telling people his favourite colour. We upgraded to a new big boy bed now that the crib was outgrown, again, still part of the SV Heart Kids' room set.

Alisha: "That's nice. My favourite is orange"

Brent: "What's dad's favourite?"

Alisha: "Sea Foam"

And here's a better view of him, from the front.

Brent: "Sea foam? What's that?"

Lol. Brent has never been to the beach before. Hopefully that will change soon.

For now though, we will wish him a good night's sleep in his new big bed. Don't you love the monkey pajamas? :D They are one my favourites. Good night Brent, sleep tight. You're going to need to prepare for the first day of school and making new friends.
